I just want to start off by saying thank you to all of you who have supported me over the years. The music business is a tough road and it takes a lot of talent and determination to get where I want and need to go. The fact that you support me and help promote me (well I hope you do!) means a lot to me.
Last week I was in Nashville Tennessee for the NSAI advanced song camp. NSAI stands for Nashville Songwriters Association International. I run the Portland Chapter! They have an advanced camp for writers and you have to apply for it. They only select 50 campers out of all who apply world wide! Yes folks world wide! Well Myself, Tom Mann, and Stuart Stone from Lacey Washington were the only ones representing the great Northwest! It was an amazing experience. We went from 7:45 am to 6:30pm for three days perfecting the artform of wrtiting. Not to mention, rubbing elbows with hit songwriters and meeting writers who were selected with us. It’s hard to be passionate about something when you are always surrounded by negativity, but if I ever give up on music, I will only be letting myself down and I refuse to do that! Especially after this past weekend. Many of you know Nashville is my second home and this past week, I came back to the northwest with more determination than a group of non believers can dish out! I was born with the gift of music and I will die with it! (don’t shoot me or run me over please!)
Ok I am off my “Go Carrie” soap box now:) I would love to tell you about a few public shows coming up in the next few weeks.
Next Thursday, June 16, I will be in St.Helens Oregon for the “13 nights on the River” Concert series! This wonderful concert is set right off the Columbia River at Columbia View Park. The concert starts at 6pm and goes until 9pm. If you haven’t seen my band in a concert style setting yet, then here is your chance! Some lawn chairs, great food, wine….yep I am getting excited all ready and I can’t do any of that! There will be food vendors there if you forget to bring food or drinks!
Then after that, June 25th in Tillamook Or, I will be performing for the 25th anniversary of the Tillamook Rodeo at the fairgrounds! For those of you who have never been to Tillamook, I highly recommend coming! Not only will you get to see my band in a dance all night kind of mood, but come early for the Parade and the streak feed! Dont forget about the cheese! Take a tour at the Tillamook chees factory or get some of their famous ice cream as well! I love Tillamook! Here is the link to show you the wonderful events for the rodeo! http://www.tillamookrodeo.com/events.htm
I look forward to seeing all of you at one of my shows this month or this summer! Again thank you for being a supporter !
